Press statement on murders of ZANU-PF members

Zimbabwe Peace Project writes in ReliefWeb: " Zimbabwe Peace Project (ZPP) is shocked and stunned by the murder of two ZANU-PF members, Lloyd Jamawo and Marko Masenda by accused fellow party member, Proud Mupambwa, in Chitungwiza last Saturday in an incident which was followed, two days later, by an alleged suicide of Mupambwa in police custody. No political outcome is worth the loss of lives and blood should not be spilled over positions and factional ruptures. ZPP notes with concern the acrimony and resulting violence that has been widely shored up to the surface by the ruling party's current restructuring exercise across the country. Fist fights, intimidation and other forms of harassment have characterised the restructuring exercise which has seen many districts, because of insurmountable conflicts, either postpone or discontinue elections; or have contested poll results. ...".
