Analysis: Zimabwe - Crisis over? (IRIN)

JOHANNESBURG/HARARE, 12 September 2012 (IRIN) - At the height of Zimbabwe's humanitarian crisis in 2002/2003, more than seven million people were in need of food aid. A decade later, the number of people in need has declined to a million, though it could go up by another 600,000 in 2013.

Still, two of the country's biggest donors, the European Union and the US, and their implementing partner, the UN, say Zimbabwe is on its way to recovery and development. The EU has announced that it is scaling down its humanitarian assistance. Read more at IRINNEWS...
